Reptiles and Amphibians tour ended with 33 species!
In less than two weeks 33 species of reptiles and amphibians have been recorded. Highlights included Eastern Spadefoot (Pelobates syriacus), Balkan Terrapin (Mauremys rivulata), Snake-eyed Lacertid (Ophisops elegans), Glass Lizard (Pseudopus apodus), very colorful Dahl’s whip snake (Platyceps najadum) and many others. In one rainy night we recorded more than 10 Eastern Spadefoot (Pelobates syriacus), 15 Shelkovnikov’s tree frog (Hyla orientalis), 1 Common toad (Bufo bufo) and hundreds of Marsh frogs (Pelophylax ridibundus). Many birds and butterflies were also recorded.
